BMC Open Youth Lead Climbing Competition - 24th July, EICA Ratho

EICA will host the next BMC Open Youth Competition on 24th July.  This event will be similar to that held last November at Awesome Walls in Liverpool.  Designed to be a fun and relaxed competition which is open to young competitors born between 1991 and 1998 it will also be used to select the GB team that will compete in the Worlds in September.  Climbers from the French Youth team, who are over that week participating in a joint training camp with the GB Youth team, will also take part.

Volunteers required for YCS Finals, World Youth Championships and British Lead Climbing Championships

There are three top level BMC managed competitions running at EICA this year and they all require a raft of volunteers to make them run smoothly.  You will normally get lunch and refreshments throughout the day and there might even be a free t-shirt up for grabs. If you can help with registration, general administration, running, rope carrying, videoing, judging or belaying at any of these events please let Avril know at membership@quickdrawclimbingclub.org.uk.

I am pleased to announce that we have 4 new members joining us this month. You may have met them at the January Jonny & Natalie mentoring session. They are Eilidh Vass Payne, Harry Miles, Jodie Brown and Rory Whyte. Eilidh unfortunately broke her arm recently, but the others are all taking part at the YCS on Saturday so please make them and their families welcome. I look forward to reading their web profiles.
