MCofS is now pleased to support and endorse the Scottish Youth Bouldering Championship as a National Event.

Climbing Format:
The SYBC is operated on a quite different format to the YCS, although the age categories are the same as follows:

• 7yr - 10yr Category
• 11yr - 13yr Category
• 14yr - 16yr Category
• 17yr - 19yr Category

Format for the day:
There will be an open qualifying round where climbers will have several hours to complete a series of problems in their own time. They will be allowed to attempt the problems as many times as they wish with their highest point scored (and number of attempts recorded for possible count-back). There will then follow a final and a possible super final.

Problem Difficulty and Scoring:
Every effort is made to ensure that the boulder problems are set to be harder the higher up you get, so everyone should be able to enjoy some climbing without being spat-off low down by a 'stopper move'. The higher up you get the higher the score you get (the same as in the YCS and SYCC).
